:o

Don't mean to fuss, but I just have to get something off my chest that has scratching my ass for a while! We all know that we must pay our rent/house payment each and every month on time, but why does Georgia have to be so nasty when evicting people??? I just came from Clayton County and I saw two families whom had just been evicted today. Not only were their things outside of their apartments it was off the property just sitting on highway 85. WITH?? I know they didn't pay, but do you have to sit all their valuables on the side of the rode for anyone to help themselves? I'm sorry, but this ish is just plain wrong.

The only solace or hope the Marshall gives you is a note on your possesions stating that if anyone touches your property and is caught, they are subject to prosecution. Then they just leave no matter if you are at home or not.

I understand the eviction, but their has to be some law in the state that prohibit rental properties from placing families 'literally' out on the street without sufficient time to recoup or relocate. There must be some type of protection!!

Someone holla back with some knowledge!

I've seen this driving by once or twice. I think it's messed up, but I doubt these apt. complexes have the "Rent by the 5th, or you're outta here" attitude. I would bet anything these families are 3-4 months late on the rent and had multiple warnings, letters, etc.

Maybe they should lock the people's stuff up in an outside storage area or something that would have to be paid to get it out. But yeah that is messed up...

The eviction process that you are talking about, happens the same way here in DC and MD. You can best believe that those evicted had atleast a 30 day notice. I know that's the process in DC/MD. Everyone in the building knows when you don't pay your rent. The eviction letter is taped to the door. Once your receive that, you know that your time is short. The rental office is not being cruel, but the person being evicted is aware of the time restraints. They are running a business, and to reserve space to store the tenant's property will be costing more money and time out of the pocket of the owner of the complex. You have to pay someone to move their stuff. For the Marshall to come out and serve someone a eviction notice. You have to pay that fee. There's a fee involved for filling for the court to start the eviction process. I do agree that is some ol B.S. about dopping someone's property out like that, without it being secure from others stealing.null
