Honestly, besides Atlanta I don't think I'd live any other place in GA. Most of the other cities here like Macon, Augusta, Athens, Columbus and Valdosta are small and way slower. But there's always something to get into here.

Ok, so Atl. would be the place to come to, well tell me more about Atl. Pros, cons, features, economy, population, etc.

Can I interject for a second?? First, R Dunn is correct. Besides the ATL, rural Georgia is slowwwwwww outside of ATL/Macon. The only thing that saved Macon is it's proximity to Atlanta.

The ATL is cool as hell, especially for a single person. If you're moving here with a STRONG desire to settle down and get married, get ready for a few years of struggle. The social life is treacherous here and a high percentage want their cake and ice cream. The oppurtunities are limitless, there is always something to do if you're a going out type of person, and even though jobs are hard to come by these days because Bush and Dick are having a freak seesion on Capitaol Hill, it's still seems releatively easy to find work in Atlanta. Since you're transferring you should be straight.

I decided to move to Atlanta during my Senior year in high school. What I love the most is that I can go just about anywhere in the ATL and find a great representation of my sisters and brothers. You gotta love that! Shirley Franklin is holding it down as ATL's 1st black female mayor and Mike Vike finally has the Falcons looking respectable. Now if the Hawks would play some defense and Braves stop choking, we will be rolling <LOL>!

But seriously, research the counties that make up Atlanta before you decide to make a move. Different counties are on some other ish when it comes to the ATL. I would recommend residence in Clayton, Dekalb, and possibly Cobb. I don't care for Cobb too much because in my opinion it's too far from the action. Taxes in Clayton are pretty good, and Dekalb just has all of the elements (Decatur, Stone Mountain, etc.) and pretty close to everything happening. DO NOT MOVE TO GWINNET! It's too damn crowded and is getting even more ridiculous. Traffic is hell! Traffic is generally bad in ATL period, but Gwinnet will make you want to fight cats!

Fulton is coming back up, especially downtown. Taxes are just way too high though. I'm considering moving toward downtown myself now with all of the tight residential buildings they're placing down there.

One more thing, if you're moving from up north or out west, do not expect the salaries to be the same. This may not be applicable in your case since you're transferring, but the cost of living is much lower in the south, thus lower salary ranges.

Ok, that's all I can dish out right now, but I hope this helps you out.

PS - ATL's proximity to Miami is also nice.

One :)

Yo right on J, sounds like you been there for a coo azz minute. More than likely I would move close to the downtown area cause I live in Denver right now, and I live near downtown. I've always liked to live in the downtown area. So what about the malls, how long do they stay open? What kind of clothes stores do they have in the malls? Also, the radio station down here is weak as I don't know what, how is the radio station(s) down there? I do like rap and R&B, but I listen to a majority of jazz music, I know yall have a jazz station ryte?

Malls in the ATL stay open until 9 PM during the normal seasons and extended hours during the holidays. Clothing, depends on what your flava is really. ATL pretty much mirrors the NY clothing scene since we have so much NY influence here, but it just depends on what you flava is. If you make it here, just go to Lenox and if you can't find what you're looking for there, spread out to the other malls in the area. One thing I notice in the ATL, you can follow what fashions retail will stock based on the location of the stores. Say you're into Sean Jean, Phat Farm etc. You'll find the hottest ish from these lines at the malls near the most populated minority areas, South Dekalb Mall in Decatur, Greenbriar Mall in the SWATS, etc. If you like to go to the mall and see beautiful women, just go to Lenox on a Friday after work or Saturday. Sure bangers will be found.

Radio, hip-hop and R&B dominates here and I can't remember the name of the jazz station, but we have one as well as many jazz nichtclubs so don't worry about that.

Alright thanks for covering that part. So, as far as women, what kind of women do they have down there? I like them thick like Adrienne or maybe a bit thicker, but not too skinny. ;)

Man, don't drive yourself crazy with that question! Take it like this, women in the ATL are from everywhere in the world, all shapes and sizes, shades or colors. You will see many flavors and it's many more than Baskin and Robbins!

Now that's tyte, its like that down here, but sound like the Atl. may have a better selection though. Now, how much would it cost to purhcase a new car such as a LLac?

Moving to the "A" will be the best place to live.I used to live in Columbus for 5 years, that place is slow as hell, and it's very country.I noticed you asked about the women, put it this way,you will be like a kid in a candy store. In Atlanta, land value is higher in the buckhead area, but if you live on the southside, you wont pay as much.Rush hour traffic is a mutha.Gas is pretty reasonable compared to Columbus(A hick town).

Atlanta is like a big city with a country ass mentality!!!!

Pros: cheap living, gas is cheap, get a lot of house for your money, life here is very easy.

Cons: People mentality is very country!!! (most people I run into have no sense of hustle, are very much haters for the simple fact that they don't have to struggle that much unlike NY), everyone wants to be a star from radio to internet sites.
Women here are ok (stuck up to most parts because guys down here believe in trickin more than actually tryin)

The reason I moved to Atlanta from NYC is to get away from negativity that lies within the city. Too much trouble to get into. cost of living is very low. I don't have to worry about anyone running in my crib or get done up in the streets. But the cons are a bitch as well. But I rather live good than socialize with a lotof people anyday.

Be careful atlanta is full of haters, nobody wants you to outshine them.

So you're saying that the "A" would be my better choice to go with rather than Columbus (hick town) right? So what about Buckhead, is that right next to Atl?

Buckhead is a part of Atlanta. Just north of downtown. More expensive than some of the other suburbs but very nice area.

Well The "A" is tight... I personally like it but me being the person that I am I cant stay in one spot. But the "A" is really cool though and the diversity here is off the map... so basically you can always find a place to live that fits your taste thats how I see it. :p
