why are white folks upset because we use the word nigga and ban them from using the term. simple, they've lost control of one of the most degrading names ever used to define a people. as with many words, nigger has evolved from a sub-human syntax to a term of endearment when used by US!!! but should that be the case? is using the word nigga giving white folks the permission to use it as well? i don't think it is, but i want to ask the question anyway.
my position is simple: men can't call women bitches... to their face without expecting some "feedback". i can say things to my boyz or members of my family that i wouldn't want anyone else to say. same thing with the word nigga. when i say what's up nigga... it's generally to someone that i know. i can understand older african americans not appreciating my point of view, and they every right to have that position considering that they lived the history we sometimes easily forget. but white folks have no right to the word and should be content with the racist jokes and calling us nigger behind our backs... nuff said

Yep, I agree. Language in general is all dependent on context AND the person who's saying it. A girl saying 2 another girl she knows "Bitch fix your hair" means something different from saying that to a girl she doesn't know and is also different from me saying it to a female. But with me saying it there is no "nice" way-I'll catch hell no matter who I say it to. Same thing with nigga. Nigga can be said with endearment or hatred within the black race. But there is no "right way" for a white person to say it. I personally use it but I make it a point not to say it around white people.

I speak whatever I feel whenever I feel like it no matter who is around, with exeption of my older family (mother, grandmother, father, etc...) just out of respect. When I be around my homies though it's different it's a word that's in my regular vocabulary when I refer to anybody, even white people. As far as I'm concerned everybody's a nigga, and all I know is I better not hear no white dude or chinese dude or who ever ain't black speak it out loud no where around me because they WILL catch a beat down, again. Puerto Ricans is different because they some niggaz just like us on the come up and they understand our struggle to a point. We might not have the same history as far as slavery and segregation go but now we both out here tryin to make a dollar out of fifteen cent, to take some one else's quote.
