The media is making me sick these days with their "coverage" of what's going on in the world. I mean I don't mind them giving valuable information or insight as to current events, but DAMN!! It's like every news story ties in to Bin Laden or the word 'terrorist'. I swear I've heard that word more in the last month than I've heard all my life.
How many angles are there to say the same thing over and over? I can imagine them doing a segment on running shoes and saying "these shoes are lightweight, affordable and would be excellent in running from terrorist attacks".
A little side note I had a discussion with someone about: I do not personally have an American flag on my car, at my house, on my bandana or whatever. I'm very patriotic, but some people seem like 'bandwagon' patriots since the 11th like it's a sports team or something. Just like before 1990 or so when the Braves lost like every game, you ain't see nobody here wearing a Braves jersey or hat or saying that's their team. Now that they're winning everybody's down. I respect the 'flag bearers' for what they're doing as long as they don't down others for showing 'team spirit' their own way.

I'm feeling you completely. No disrespect intended, but I feel like its phony. Its typical human nature...people think it sounds good or looks good so they do it. I'm not saying this about everyone sporting a flag, but for the most part half the people sporting flags never would be if this whole mess hadn't gone down. As far as the media, I think they should be ashamed of themselves as a whole. All this "We'll never forget" crap is working my last nerve. How are people supposed to put this tragedy behind them if everytime you turn on the TV or pick up a paper all you see is this mess. To make matters worse they are contradicting themselves by offering counseling on how to put this shit behind us, and self help groups. I think this is a covert way of making money and it is really disgusting if you think about it. I'm from NY and a lot of my friends have family members who were amongst those that perished. All I ever hear them say is how they wish the damn media would just drop this shit already. Its insensitive and we don't need to be reminded every day of this horrific tragedy...the media needs to realize that these victims are trying to cope with their losses and move on; they are not in need of constant reminders of their lost loved ones last day on earth.

man... oh man... oh man have ya'll hit a nerve with me on this one. the simplistic, silly, soldier wannabe, shallow patriotic bullshit is getting on my nerves. now you got all these black folks selling thier souls out to these still-nigger-hatin crackers, who don't give a damn about us, but now all of a sudden... we're unified. BULLSH*T!!! I've never had an American flag and I'll never fly one. "We'll never forget" yes, it's tragic that over 5000 innocent people were killed by these fools, but think how many perished in the trans-atlantic slave trade... but they tell us to forget... I'm not getting on any bandwagon with this crap... we need to keep it real.
the thing that ticks me off about the media is, how do they consistantly try to make it seem that bush is saying something profound... he's dumb as hell and it doesn't take much to read a speach that someone else wrote. then they go from showing the plane crash into the building from 200 different angles to showing bin laden's face every night.
final point... how are you going to tell americans to "feel safe, go on with your lives, fly in airplanes, visit other cities, spend money and know that your government is out here protecting you from terrorist... and oh by the way... there's a good chance there's another terrorist in the works to happen in the near future but we (FBI, CIA) can't tell you by whom, when, where and under what circumstances it will happen... but you have nice weekend anyway..."
THAT... is dumb as hell. Keep Ya Freakin' Mouth Shut If You're Not Going To Give Me Some REAL Information.... Nuff Said undefined

I feel like the media is a bunch of nosey ass folkz who have nothing else better to do with their time. About 95% of the shit that you will see in the news is either shit that you don't wanna hear or half-assed information.
