I definitely gotta give props where props are due to Denzel Washington and Halle Berry (the finest woman on the 3rd rock) for their Oscar wins. While most black people are thinking "Well it's about time!", have you talked to any white people about it or see what they've been saying. I have and have been on many message boards. Many are saying that it was all a sham. They say the Oscars had to do that because of public pressure and wanting to do the 'politically correct' thing. I've seen some that say there's no way that two Black people take the top two honors fairly and it was a 'black day' for awards shows in general. It's sounding almost like how the races were split over the OJ verdict, just not as vocal. Anyone's thoughts???
<LOL> OJ all over agin huh?! I definitely remember those reactions. I was in college at the time and it was funny as hell to go to class right after the verdict came down and see the litte white girls crying! Payback is a mutha! Look at the other actors that were nominated within Halle's and Denzel's catagories? Were any better than Halle or Denzel? I don't think so. Most of them are garbage, especially Ms. paper thin and color Nicole Kidman! Those awards were well deserved and YES! about damn time! Especially Denzel. How many times has he been snubbed??!! It's just fear R, as is the case when we finally penetrate successfully into the matrix they have created. Fear, just plain fear. Their sacred ground is being penetrated little by little. They lost sports a long time ago. Now we're infiltrating entertainment to the max. Look at music & movie sales! Next is politics and that's when ish will really hit the fan! It's a lovely thing!
One. :D

I haven't talked to any white people personally, but I have listened to talk radio, and you're right...they're pissed.I don't understand why they find it so hard to comprehend that 2 black actors put on great performances.Anyone who has seen Training Day or Monster's Ball can't deny that Halle and Denzel put on some of the best performances in films this year. For anyone to say that allowing them to win was the "PC" thing to do is crazy. If Hollywood was concerned about that, then there would be far more black nominees and winners at these awards shows. Some of the callers on talk radio were so upset about the wins, you would have thought that Halle and Denzel won the presidential election.

I am very happy for the both, moreso Halle. She was very deserving of it and it shows in all of her movies. Of coarse other races are upset but that is too tuff. Futhermore, she is my idle and I will be the second black woman to win an Oscar after she wins again. HAVE TO CATCH UP WITH HER...

Halle Berry's Website Hacked, Defaced:
You know what they say: "The devil is always busy." Three days after her historic win for Best Actress at Sunday night's 74th Annual Academy Awards, Halle Berry is already the target of playa haters. Visitors to her official website, www.hallewood.com, (http://www.hallewood.com,) were greeted by a mustached image of the starlet this morning.
Website: Halle Berry
The caption above the altered pic read "Just Nicol Kidman" -- who was also nominated in the Best Actress category.
An e-mail address, K_KK56@Yahoo.com, was left behind. While the photo is pretty harmless, the "KKK" in the e-mail addy does raise a few eyebrows.
At press time, the website had not been restored to normal operation.
Add HOTWIRE headlines to your website. Click Here.
Hey, I just checked out the Hallewood site. Her pic is restored now! That's just plain ignorant. Further proof that they want to keep us down. rethomsrekcuf <LMAO>!!
In the word of P. Diddy..we will NEVA EVA STOP!!

I DEFINATLY feel that being politically correct had some influence on Halle and Denzel getting awards at the same time. They even threw Sidney Portier in the MIX and he received the big honors. ALL IN ONE NIGHT!!!
We really need to support and acknowledge our people with our own awards. This way we can kill that perception of "tossing the dog a bone..." Let's pick our own heroes and role models.
THE ONLY WAY TO BATTLE RACISM IS TO MIX AND MINGLE MAKE A LOT OF MIXED BABIES. SO ONE DAY EVERYBODY WILL BE THE SAME. JUST A SUGGESTION.
That got me "hot!" To think, there are really people that STILL think in that sense. I didn't see the movie Halle was in (monsters ball). Put I did not too long ago pop in the "Training Day" DvD. An I gotta say, that str8 up was a outstanding performance!! An I'm sure Halle gave one too. Man, I don't wanna go on, I'll just take it out in a rhyme...AGAIN.

i saw training day but i dont think he should have got a oscar for that. he did a lot of good movies. training day shouldnt have been a oscar nominee. just cause denzel was the bad guy. i think the bone collector was better. i congradulate denzel on his oscar but i feel they gave him one for that because they fucked him on so many others. :(

"Ai Yo Tony, Get ya head out ya..." I don't mean that in a bad way. For real tho, Denzel not deserving cause he's the villian? Bruh, a villian is what makes the movie. And Denzel's character in the movie was one of the most truly dynamic villians. He portrayed it better than anyone could. White people can't get over the fact it takes place in an Urban setting. And honestly, the only discretion is they have is with the fact that Russel Crowe didn't get the Oscar for A Beautiful Mind. I haven't seen the movie, and I'm sure Opie (Ron Howard) deserves his rewards for the movie, but White people can't get over Crowe not winning the award. Big ups to that Julia Roberts girl for showing love to Denzel when he got the award. "some white people know what's up." "Some" No disrespect Tony. But I agree fully from the heart, Denzel has been snubbed for too too too too too long. I'm in entertainment, and while he's chasing Sidney, I'm chasing him. Peace.
